Abington Memorial Hospital Welcomes Vakil to Orthopaedic Surgery Division

Abington, PA (Vocus) February 1, 2010 -- Abington Memorial Hospital (http://www.amh.org/) welcomes Jeffrey Jahan Vakil, M.D., a specialist in joint replacement surgery, to the staff of the Orthopaedic Surgery Division.

After finishing his Bachelor of Arts degree in English at Franklin and Marshall College, Vakil attended Thomas Jefferson University – Jefferson Medical College, where he earned his Master of Science degree in Microbiology, as well as his medical doctorate. He completed his internship at Drexel University College of Medicine, where he also fulfilled his Orthopaedic Surgery residency.

Vakil completed an Adult Joint Reconstruction Fellowship at Johns Hopkins University, where he learned the anterior approach to hip replacement surgery. He is currently one of just several physicians in the Philadelphia region using this innovative approach to hip replacement.
